Who is Shane Carwin?

Shane Carwin will fight Brock Lesnar for the UFC Heavyweight Championship on November 21, 2009.  This fight will be the UFC 106 Main Event at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Shane Carwin is not your ordinary UFC heavyweight contender.  He is currently 11-0 in MMA.  He is a Mechanical Engineer, former NCAA wresting champion, former two-time All-American in football, holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is one of two heavyweights in the UFC to wear the 4XL gloves, the other being Brock Lesnar.  Check out this interview.  He seems to be a "down to earth" kind of guy.  It should be a great fight although Carwin is clearly the underdog.  I hope that he can find a way to win- Carwin would make a great champion.
