Claims False - Advise Valid

THIS POST on Conservative Thoughts has some great points but one problem - credibility.  According to Snopes Juval Aviv "did not appear (on Fox News) just prior to the London bombings and correctly predict them."

But one must set this problem aside and look at the good points contained within. "Juval Aviv is indeed the president of New York-based Interfor Inc. (a corporate investigations firm)... and he is the author of Staying Safe: The Complete Guide to Protecting Yourself, Your Family, and Your Business".

So, what can America do to protect itself?

Paraphrasing- From an intelligence perspective, the U.S. needs hands-on human intelligence, both from an infiltration perspective as well as to pay attention to, and trust ‘aware’ citizens to help. We need to engage and educate ourselves as citizens; however, our U. S. government continues to treat us, its citizens, ‘like babies’. Our government thinks we ‘can’t handle the truth’ and are concerned that we’ll panic if we understand the realities of terrorism. Aviv says this is a deadly mistake.

Aviv says that citizens of Israel are so well ‘trained’ that an unattended bag or package would be reported in seconds by citizen(s) who know to publicly shout, ‘Unattended Bag!’ The area would be quickly and calmly cleared by the citizens themselves.

Active and aware citizens are the key to defeating terrorism.  Don't expect the government to keep you safe.
  • Plan for your own safety first.
  • Keep your eyes open. Observe your surroundings.
  • Actively challenge and report situations that "don't seem right".
  • If you don't see or hear anything from the police, report and report again.
It is up to citizens to get the full attention of the police and government.  Police and government will never have the resources necessary to keep everyone safe.

Citizens are the first line of defense in the war on terror.  Take action now.
