U.S. Shutters Guantanamo - Polar Bears Die?

Actual weather forecasts for January 9, 2010:
Thompson, Illinois: Sunny. High around 10 °F . Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Wind chill readings to 19 below in the morning.
Guantanamo, Cuba: Scattered Clouds. High: 84 °F . Wind NNW 6 mph . Chance of precipitation 30%.

Wait! Stop the project!

We could be making a huge mistake. Al Gore has yet to compare the carbon footprint of Thompson to that of Guantanamo. If we move the terrorists to Thompson, it will take much more energy to keep the terrorists warm and cozy through the winter. Preliminary estimates indicate that operation of the Thompson heating system alone could melt enough ice to kill 40 polar bears. That's the kind of risk that this government should be unwilling to take. It's time to rethink Guantanamo from the perspective of climate change. Leave the terrorists in Gitmo!
